After leaving such a small town in the form of 1770 we headed to Rainbow beach hoping to find something a bit bigger, we did not. We left Airlie Beach at 12:00am and boarded a Greyhound which dropped us off in 1770 at 10:00am the following day. We had a courtesy shuttle bus ready and waiting for us when we arrived which took us to our new home (hostel) about 5 minutes drive out of town. The 'Clipper' is pretty similar to 'Ocean Breeze' (the boat we went to the barier reef on) in the sense that it is a sail boat with an engine. The 'Clipper' was bigger though, holding and sleeping 50 passengers (not including crew) with three different levels. The bottom deck was where the bedrooms were, middle the dining area and kitchen and topdeck for sun bathing and relaxing on. The 'Clipper' also came complete with a waterslide (off the side of the boat)...

Airlie Beach is a small costal town on the East Coast of Australia, the launching pad for tirps to the Whitsunday's..the exact reason why we had braved (we were all feeling slightly fragile) the trusty Greyhound and arrived in town. After leaving Magnetic Island it was back to a city and a short local bus, then ferry took us back to Townsville. This was the day that we were meeting Koo (a friend from Uni) and she was kind enough to book us into a hostel and organise a pick up from the ferry terminal.
