With morale lower than a skateboarders trousers, we arrived in Kaiteriteri in the late afternoon, with the idea of booking into a private room to catch up on some sleep, this plan lasted all of about 2 minutes, when upon check in, we were told the privates were all fully booked, bummer. Instead we were allocated a eight bed dorm, which should have slept six, max, with absolutley no where to store our bags. It was like when you move house and just have stuff everywhere you have to dodge and walk round, this time though we were paying $30 each for the privledge, not the best start.
Unfortunatley our destination wasn't much better than the bed situation, with another tiny town with not much on bar any pre - booked activities, which neither of us fancied doing, or realistically, rather save our money for something else. The small bay which was a two minute walk from our hostel was nice though, with a small beach and benches looking out to the sea. However by the time we arrived we couldn't explore that much and with Belle picking up a stinking cold, she now wanted to just go to bed, the remaining afternoon wasn't all that exciting. Infact so uninteresting that this is will be a short little blog.
Dinner and a massive game of 'squares' was how our evening panned out before heading back to the room, praying for a quiet and decent nights sleep. The next morning, mission accomplished, more so for me, as Belle's cold had got worse and deprived her of yet, more sleep. Checking out at 10:00am we then had to hang around the hostel waiting for those who were doing sea kiyaking to return. Belle was still ill and wanted to go back to bed and I decided to have a look at the small bit of coastline that was Kaitiriri, which lasted about 20 minutes.
We finally left around mid day both wondering (with a couple of others on the bus) why we had stopped here. The roads in and out of Kaiteriteri were pretty stunning though, windy there way round the hill side, a bit of a shame though, the best it of the stop were the coach journey in and then out again.
