Day 8:
So I got up late got woke up by Dionne telling me the bus was here and that if I don't go now then it was gonna leave! Always good so i quickly got my stuff and jut legged it. Still in my outfit from last night, haha. All an experience!
So I was on the bus from 7.30am and didnt arrive at my nest destination until 5.30pm. The funny part was that I got on the bus with absolutely no idea where i was getting off! So eventually i got talking to these 4 dutch guys and they were talking to me about the Coastline of Wild Coast and they were telling me about Coffee Bay and how they had heard so many stories about it. So they invited me along with them and so thats where i ened up. I stayed with them in the Coffee Shack! This was the ebst and most chilled out and relaxed hostel so far of my trip! The scenery I cannot explain, the beaches were stunning there! The people so friendly and it was so mellow and really cheap! A savannah cider out here is like 1.30 a bottle not even that! When we arrived we all got a free bottle of beer or drink on the house and we all sat and mingled in the seating area outside. Everyone there was so friendly and everyone was just up for a laugh and a good time.
I then got showered and out of last nights clothes ready for dinner. We all sat down along this one long wooden bench all getting ready for dinner to be ready and then a group of 8 African boys all came over and stood in front of us all and started singing and dancing. It was so nice. They raise money to send the children of Coffee bay to secondary school in Mhataha! Yes Lion King! But it was so nice to see and the atmosphere was so cool!
Dinner then consisted of a minestrone soup and african bread followed by a roast chicken with fresh veg, roasted butternut squash and vegetable fried rice. It was so yummy and was only R50 which is about 4 quid! Mental. Dinner was served in tuppleware bowls and they lit a camp fire so we truely felt like we were camping out in the open air. It was amazing!
We all then got chatting and I met some really cool people. Then we all joined in on a pool competition where we all got a free springbok shot at the end which we had to drink with no hands. The shots really nice. It consists of Amarula and creme de menthe! I loved it! The night enede prety much the same as the night beofre, drunk and late! Met a couple of cool people from America, Switzerland and then 1 guy from Nottingham! Such a good place! Wish I had longer there! Never mind!
Oh one really wierd thing when I arrived a saw this guy and really recognised him but couldnt figure out why or how. Started chatting to his mates later that night and was fining out where they were from etc. They then asked me I told them and they shouted this guy over and went, Mate shes from the same town as you! A guy I went to school with in the year above me, Sinclair, was in the most remote place in South Africa. Small world!!!!
