DAY 4 QUEBEC CITY

We left montreal at 8am this morning and headed for quebec city, a 3 hour drive from montreal. the tour guide was pretty good at switching from french to english during the commentary on the way there. he did tend to drone on a bit too much though. when we got to the city we met another guide who took us for a half an hour walk around the city, filling us in on its history and pointing out major landmarks. it was pretty good but i just kept picturing all those guided tour groups i used to see on family holidays and would make fun of them being made up of the blue rinse brigade! luckily our group was a mixture so didnt feel too stupid. after our wee walk around the city we headed to a waterfall which is 30m taller than niagra falls! it was really pretty but cant wait to see niagra. we went on a tour round the rest of quebec after that, taking in the old town, the battlefields, the shopping district lol and seeing all the famous buildings and where catch me if u can with leo was filmed! we were then given 3 hours of free time to explore on our own. so we spent the afternoon exploring old quebec, the famous fairmont hotel and all the churches and statues around the old city.

i loved it! quebec is a beautiful city, my favourite in canada i think! we managed to meet up with amelie a friend from oreo after lunch which was awesome. she wandered round with us pointing out landmarks and put up with us going in and out of tourist shops it was really good to catch up! we had to be back on the bus by 4:30pm which was ashame cld def spend another 2 days or so there! the drive back was long but they showed loads of episodes of mr bean so i was kept entertained lol! we picked up a dominoes pizza when we got back to the hostel and started chatting to a girl who was on our trip who was from singapore. after packing up my stuff (i sumhow have accumulated more stuff in just 3 short days). i'm now watching bones and uploading pics, life is good!
