So i've said goodbye to The Bealey, the Hotel I worked in for 2 months. That time has flown by. I've only 3 weeks left of New Zealand then I'm off to Fiji!
So I have decided to travel with the Magic Bus, and it's worked out pretty well so far. I figured because I only had a month to see it all, I'd get myself a bus pass which gives you options to do activities too. I know many travelers are against these types of busses but this one is working really well for me so far.
I've visited Kiakoura, Picton, Nelson, Greymouth and Franz Josef so far, and that's all in 1 week! phew!
In nelson, I took a day trip to Abel Tasman national Park and did a 3 hour hike followed by a 3 hour Kayak tour back to the place we started! It was so good, but i flippin well ached the next day, a girl in my hostel went on teh trip before mine and said there were seals swimming amongst the Kayaks, shame I didnt get to see that. The hostel gave us free chocolate pudding every night, I had to be dragged back on the bus to go to Greymouth, I was more than happy to stay there!
In Greymouth we did the Brewery tour, and got ourselves a bit merry, nice beers tho! We only stayed there a night then moved on to Franz Josef.
I've just this minute got back from a Glacier Hike, I was supposed to do a full day hike, but because I have a previous ankle injury and the weather was bad they couldnt risk me going, so I went up for half a day. It was amazing anyway but I do wish I could have stayed up there all day! The weather was dreadful, but thankfully cleared up after a few hours. The reason I wasnt allowed up was because thy wouldnt be able to get a helicopter to me if my ankle gave in, which is fair enough, I did have a few wobbles up there so it's prob for the best, I'd still be up there now waiting to be rescued.
I'm heading to Queenstown tomorrow, which is bursting with adventure sports, I'll avoid the Bunjy jump, but might try rafting. who knows. Money is being spent at a ridiculous speed again, uurrggh.
So I have decided to come home a bit earlier than planned, I think it's about time that i met my Niece Isla, so my date to come back is 31st May. I'm looking forward to it, but I know I'll want to be back out here within a week of being home! Mum and Cara are really good at keeping me updated on how Isla is doing, but it's about time for a cuddle I think.
Love B.xx
