Favourite Place: I think I would disappoint a lot of people if I didn't put Fiji here. So I guess I'll say Taveuni.

Desert Island Discs: I'm far too indecisive for this, and it depends so much on what I've just listened to. Some fairly consistent favourites include Rachmaninov's 2nd Piano Concerto, Spem In Alium by Tallis, Everybody Hurts by REM, L.O.V.E.Y.O.U by Wyclef Jean (purely for its associations!), Dreaming of You by The Coral and Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue. My book would probably be Wild Swans by Jung Chang, because it's so thoughful and beautifully written. And I'll have to go with the flow and have a piano as my luxury item.

Favourite place: Far too many to choose from, and places depend so much on people. Amongst my favourites are Vic falls, sunrise in the Namib, the backs at John's, and the skom, Swaziland. Really though I just love my bed, and whoever is in it.

Desert Island Dics: Off the top of my head (so different every time you ask).....Tears in Heaven - Eric Clapton, Canon - Pachelbel, Diamonds and Rust - Joan Baez, Emlanjeni - Mafikizolo, Three Lions Euro 96 (for the memories) and Hukhuna Wakiata Sa Jesu (As sung by the kids at John Wesley, Sd.). Because, perhaps rarely for a student, I'm really interested in what I do (and I read so fast I need a biiiig book), I'd take Robbins' Pathology. As for a luxury item its got to be an instrument; maybe a guitar so I could accompany jo's "well polished" Rach!
