We have just had the 3 exciting busy days in Kuala Lumpur! We didn't have much time but ended up cramming everything in we wanted to. After a 8.5 hour flight to kl we immediately were hit with hot and humid weather. People always said it was like walking into an oven and they are not wrong. We got a bus for 8rm which is about $3 nz which took us into kl sentral the main station here. Finally after sometime we got to our wee room at tune hotel. Perfect for what we needed with a normal toilet!!! Breakfast was the first hurdle, they eat nasi lemak which is sweet rice, peanuts, dried anchovies, and chilli chutney costing only 2rm! so cheap. Also roti pisang is banana roti bread. Another breakfast favourite. So nice. During our time we visited the petronas twin towers, kl tower, KLCC shopping mall, Times Square shopping mall which was complete with a theme park, bowling lanes and cinemas!!! Was insanely huge!!! The batu caves was a highlight , climbing 274 stairs to the top we were overwhelmed hy the number of monkeys roaming around. And how tame they were. We experienced the markets at China town where we had dinner at a wee place. 15.50rm for a 660ml of tiger beer very cheap!!! We have eaten lots of their food- most of the time knowing what it is thankfully. The squat loos was rather strange at first however now just used to them. The amount of traffic and the speed at which they travel is amazing. Crossing roads was interesting at first but now used to it. The amount of wild cats and dogs roaming around is also not what we are used too. Now off to Singapore to stay with David and Vanessa. Will post photos there.
