Beki and Steves travels
after a absolute killer of a journey (by the way if anyone reading this is thinking of travelling by road across Oz we urge you to reconsider) 16 hours in total, we arrived at Alice Springs
in soarin heat and a state of tiredness we frustratingly wondered the streets looking for our hostel, our backpacks had never seemed so heavy. eventually we found it. wanted to go straight to bed we were met by the hostel bloke who wanted to know what trip we were doin and where we were goin next blah blah Steve had to say look mate we just want to sleep atm..
we settled into our cramped dorm about to fall asleep when the drilling started, they were doing building work in the room next door..brilliant
as we couldnt go to sleep we went downstairs to use the net, this when we realised our camera had gone.
after we searched our room and made two trips to the greyhound office, all to no avail, we pondered what we were goin to do
thats it for today we spent most of it thinking and worrying about the camera
(by the way the hostel is well overrated, the review in Lonely Planet is misleading. it seems it is the best of a bad bunch after looking at Melankas, their rival, which is also a dump. its more the staff though at our place, a lot of attitude and unwillingness to help especially after our camera went missing)
