Hello again
Just back from the Zoo in Singapore. We saw all sorts of animals, kagaroos, hippos, rhinos, lots and lots of monkeys as well as plenty of fish (which scared Laura a fair bit but entertained me greatly!) We got a bus from the Hostel and then wandered around the zoo for houses before finally realising that we'd missed the elephants as well as the giraffes - obviously we had to go and find them (wouldn't have though you'd miss an animal of that size but some how we'd managed it!)
Anyway we found the Elephants and watched a show performance type thing where they demonstrated the typed of jobs elephants have to do in Asia and then you could feed the -for $5! so we decided just to look at them and head home as we'd been there most of the day. Ooooo and we went in this walkthrough rainforest type of thing which was brillinat - it had red pandas, lemurs, fruit bats and sloughs as well as a few others. Laura and I both managed to get our pictures taken with a very photographic lemur. We also wrestled a crocolide, almost had our heads bitten off by a tiger, befriended an Orang utan and joined a tribe of wooden men! (the photos will come guys i promise but this computer here is a bit on the gay side so as yet no photos of me getting eaten by a tiger!).
We got a bus from the zoo to a road called Ang Mo Kio so that we could get the MRT (a local train/underground type of thing) back to Little India and discoverd when the bus pulled onto the street that there was about 7 or 8 roads leaving off and on to this one also called Ang Mo Kio. And obviously, we got off at the wrong stop! But luckily so did a girl from Brighton so we stopped in at a Nissan dealer and asked how to get there and suprise suprise it was on one of the other roads that lead on to Ang Mo Kio. So off we wandered along another of these streets with the same name and found the MRT station - its sooooo much posher than the underground or metro and it was air conitioned which was a huge relief! What did suprise us about the bus that we got was that it had a TV on it - when I say bus I really do mean a bus, not a coach so finding a TV on it was fairly bizzare!
Our new friend from brighton was staying at a different hostel in Little India and told us stories of what she had been getting up to while she had been traveling for a year - ON HER OWN - brave girl! Both Laura and I came to the conclusion that we could definitly NOT do this on our own. Oddly enough we forgot to ask what her name was - at least we now know to do this in future!
When I finally figure out how to get this computer to work properly, I will add some pictures of what we've been doing but at the moment I'm not having much luck - oh and also my camera battery died on me half way round the zoo so you may have to log onto Lauras pictures when they're up so that you can see the whole lot. I'll post that up here as well when we get the pictures to work.
Its been absolutely gorgeous weather here - sun, bit of cloud and more sun!! Are you jealous yet??!
Think Ive written enough now so will leave it for now. Wont be able to write about tomorro until thursday as we get kicked out of the hostel at 10am and then we fly at 9 at night so unless we get on a computer athe airport, dont expect a blog until Thursday at the earliest! Might write about this evening later on but I think that 2 blog entries are more than enough for one day - don't you??
Love you all xxxxxxxxxxx
