well right now were in the backpackers that we stayed in when we first arrived in Auz. its really good cos one of the lads that we met on the trainning ranch is now working here so its really good to see him again. think we will be proping up the bar this evening as we've got so much to gas about. anyway...
tuesday 15th
we spent the whole of the monday night on a bus which sucked majorly as the girl infront of me kept farting the whole way down the coast for 12 hours. not nice at all. we arrived in hervey bay on the morning at 9.30 and got picked up by a hostel called fraser coast backpackers which is uber cheap at 15 bucks a night in a fairly big 4 dorm room. so we got in and did a bunch of washing and then moseyed on into town (well the sea front anyway) and went for breakfast as we hadn't eaten all day. met a mate from school (mark stewart - a lad i went to primary school with for those that dont know) as hes working his way up and had jst been to fraser island which we were going to the next day. he told us a bit about it and then went on his little way. hes going to be coming with us on our fiji trip as his mum doent want him to go there on his own!! hehehe. anyway we did what we needed to do then chilled out and did not a lot. went to bed at like 8 pm as we were shattered from not having any sleep the night before on the bus.
Wed 16th
went to fraser island on the ferry and then arrived and got on what can only be described as a monster truck!! it was a bus but not a bus! Doesnt make sense i know but seriously this thing was like a truck had been gutted out and then but seats etc in it! u had to wear ur seatbelt as everybumb u went over u'd be flung about a foot in the air - was SOOOOOOO much fun! every time u fit a funny bump u'd be flung around like a rag doll! was ace. anyway, we went to basin lake where it rained so we hid under trees til it stopped then had a bit of a splodge. we then headed out to central station (an old logging station) and then had lunch and saw our only dingos of the trip. they were very cute. then we went for a walk alonf a creek which was nice and then got back on the truck thing and headed off to lake mackenzie. was gorgeous, pure silica sand and was so blue and pretty - and guess what... it rained there as well! so after hiding out for a bit we went back to the bus to our hostels which we were staying in a dorm with 2 german girls. went to the bar and had tea with them and then hung out with them before we went to bed.
Thursday 17th
went and had breakfast and then got on the bus to go to the champange pools, coloured sands and indian head as well as all the sites along the way. we spent most oif the day in the bus thing as it chucked it down for most of the day. the champange pools were really pretty and then we had lunch as well as seeing the sandblows on the island. we drove up 75 mile beach which is classed as a national highway but people drive where they want so we had to dodge cars, people, planes (seriously there was planes taking off and landing on the beach) as well as the waves! was really fun.
anywya better go for now so will write more soon xxxx
