Ok so here we go again!

May 7th

woke up and suprise suprise..... IT WAS SUNNY! so after wolfing down breakfast, we raced back to get a spot on the beach (not that we had a whole island to our selves or anything) and make the most of the sun! me and laura sunbathed with katie while mark and caroline went snorkelling with the sharks. after lunch it got a bit over cast so me and laura went on a trip to the village on a differnt island for a few hours. we got to see the school, the village itself as well as the village market that they seem to put on just for the tourists! i made a bracelet which i weaved all by my self (a very proud moment) and then some others bought coconuts and we all tried the flesh and milk - very yummy. we headed back to the main island and then waved katie and caroline off. me and laura then went on a summit wakl in a rainforest. when we got to the top we had an amazing view of the mamanuca group as well as the main island and some of the yasawa group. our guide was a bit weird and picked up this massive yellow spider that started weaving a web around u so we all decided not to touch it! started getting dark so we headed back down the hill at breakneck speed as the idea of making our way down a barely visable in the first place path in the pitch black was not our idea of fun. so got back and showered and had tea. mark had gone night fishing so he was in a bit later. had dinner and played more cards (yawn) and then headed off to bed. saw my first shooting star which was cool and then finished my book (i think ive read about 20 or more books so far on this trip!)

May 8th

got up and it was miserable again! had breakfast and then went shark swimming! was amazing. we got a boat out to the middle of nowhere and then swam a bit out further and saw lots of sharks on the way.; now before u start thinking that im some sort of nut job im not! these are reef sharks that dont take any notice of you unless u are holding a fish that they fancy eating. the guides we were with speared some fish to entice them to come up and swim near us. they did just that and swam inbetweeen all of us which was so cool! saw the sharks for quite a while and then we got back on the boats. by this time it was raining fairly heavily now so made our way back to the main island. got showered and changed and then hid out in the dinning room as we had had to check out of where we were. we had lunch, played cards, slept, eat, shell picked and then got the boat out of there to south sea island which was tiny, you could walk around the whole thing in 2 minutes, 5 minutes if u walked really slowly! so we got there in the rain and dumped our bags and headed to the bar. a bottle of wine later, we had dinner, played some games - suck and blow, crab race and a few others. we stayed up and chatted and then headed off to bed.

May 9th

quelle suprise!! it was rainning again! so we headed back to the main island as the sea spray boat tour (which was going to take us snorkelling, to castaway island that castaway the film was filmed at and other stuff) was cancelled cos of the crummy weather. so we got the first boat out of there! so 3 hours later we arrived back at the main land and headed back to our hostle after having our noses rubbed in it by the bus driver that drove past all the posh hotels in fiji first! got lunch then headed into town to go to the shops and use the internet. mark had hurt his wrist so had to get that looked at and then we headed back to get showered and changed. we just hung out most of the evening after that. me and laura had dinner in the hostel with our new room mate michelle and then headed off to watch a film called next with nicholas cage in it! i got chatted up by some bloke with crazy dreads who seemed fairly cool but it was all a bit strange and me and laura guessed he was hammered so pretended it never happened! went to bed!

may 10th

got up and saw mark off and then headed into town with laura, did a bit of shopping then played on the net before heading back to the hostle to lounge by the pool as finally the sun had decided to show its face. so we sunbathed, had lunch and then had dinner and packed our finally cleaned clothes - who knew it took all day to wash a load of laundry! eat and then chatted for a while before heading to bed

may 11th

got up and sunbathed ALL day and then packed for leaving! fairly boring day to be honest.

may 12th got up at 6 so we could be ready for the plane and then left - had a rubbish night sleep as someone decided to come to our dorm at like 2 in the mornig and have a shower and keep us up! not impressed. anyway got the plane to auckland and was very confussed when it wasnt as cold as we thoughth it would be. so after checking in and dumping our bags we got out of our winter outfits and back into something a bit more suitable and then headed out for a wander and to stock up on supplys. we got new sim cards and all that boring kind of stuff. headed back to the hostel and played on the net before going out and getting tea and food for breakfast. DIET STARTS TOMORRO! lets see how long that lasts! and then back to the hostle to sort stuff out for tomorro. came up with a massive list of stuff to do so ended up making plan a, plan b, plan c and i think there was a plan d in there as well! anyway we then spoke to parents and headed for the land of nod

and there u have it! im finally up to date on whats been going on! were now doing plan z which we created this morning but plan z may change due to availability and become plan c but at a later time. all very confussing! anyhoo magic bus tomoro to start on the journey around the islands.
