Hello, first things first pinch punch first day of the month dad...hahahaha!!!!

anyway, we are on the beautiful island of koh pha-ngan (correct spelling!) our guest house has a pool and the sea just beyond that so we are very happy and comfy, on our first day we were wandering along the golden sands in the warm sea with the sun and mountains ahead of us...sorry ill cut that out wouldnt want to make anyone jealous!!! no it was beautiful though! and we were looking in the shallow water for exiting marine life! george found an old pen, a sea cucumber and a beer bottle i found an OCTUPUS! really! it was so awesome, some little thai kids came over and were so exited they got their parents to come see my discovery we were having a lovely time trying to speak to each other in sign language and before we had time to realise what they were doing they had taken it away to cook for dinner! seriously! we didnt get an invitation to join them for tea i might add which i found rather un neighbourly! hehe. we spent the next days laying in the sun me covered in my 30 sunscreen and george refusing to have any on...he has a lovely red back!! we played in the pool and swam in the sea well actually so far we have only been able to paddle becasue its so shallow. we didnt realise at first just how shallow it was and set out in our snorkling gear into the sea, 10 minutes later we were still only up to our knees in water so that activity had to be persponed much to our disapointment! anyway the real reason we came to this island was for the all important FULL MOON PARTY! its pretty famous amongst hippys and backpackers and so we planned our trip around being here for that event. we set out at 7.30 pm very exited to experience what wed heard so much about.

It was the best night EVER! the entire beach was filled with people from all over the place. the bars that line the beach were playing every sort of music you can imagine blaring it out over the crowds. it really was the craziest sight. everyone gets painted in glowing paint so its this mental mixture of colours everywhere you look. ervyone wants to be your friend and here your experiences. The amount of alcahol consumed is immense. they sell "buckets" which for the uneducated amongst you has a bottle of spirits, a can of coke, and a can of red bull inside it. then it all gets poured in your bucket and you drink, and drink, and drink and drink! obviously theres more being sold than that, i heard somone say every drug on earch is available at the full moon. but me and george were so thrilled by the bucket idea we were hooked! (so naive!) theres fireworks goin off all over the place, people were in the sea, weeing, swimming thowing up people were asleep. there was a guy wandering round with an iguanna, snakes people in fancy dress. and if you dont like the music or the company you just move up to the next area! as soon as we arrived the first thing george noticed was the firethrowers(...dont be alarmed no one was harmed, no really! ) they are amazing. we met up woith our friends from loas by accident and it was so awesome when they saw george s eyes light up at the fire everyone was groaning this is gonna be bad, george is gonna get chuck norris on us. it took him about 5 seconds to be in the centre of the ring of people chucking it all around. i wasnt scared untill the ring of fire. but i needmt of been scared he seems to TOUCH WOOD have some sort of guardian angel keeping him from the hospital TOUCH WOOD. so that was george sorted for the evening he wowed the crowds literally with his flinging of fire. i danced all night and i dont mean the usual all night 3 hours in 22s. it was literally 12 hours. we arrived back at 8am. in quite a mess. george had no shoes i was head to foot covered in sand and although my shoes were intact my dignity was not (i had to pee in the sea!) sorry if that entry was boring cos i know you really do need to be there for a stpry like that but i had to tell you all what an amazing time we had. when we woke up i thought i was on the beach still, the bed was full of sand and i still had my clothes on and my bag! george was naked and at first we couldnt find his clothes which amused us greatly!! (they were flung on the balcony!?) when we emerged from our hut the party was still going on round the pool at lunchtime they started to loose steam and now everyone is posotively crashing. weve been watching movies and nursing hangovers for the last few hours. I think plan is too saty here for a couple more days then move on to phiphi maybe koh toa well lte ya know. ok better go zoolander is on now!

and yes really no injuries, EXCEPT a couple of quite impressive burn marks from the fire and a lip blister from where he tried to eat the fire....really. however weve decided not to count them as injuries as hes so proud of them.
