im sooo sorry about the blogging delay but we have been so busy!
when we last left a message we were i believe in laos luang probang. after there we travelled on a bus for 6 hours (which turned out to be 8 hours) to a little backpacker hive called vangvienne. it was the worst bus experience of my life it was up through the mountains and so was windy windy all the way. the journey was worsened by the fact that the young gent next to george had a machinegun tucked in his jacket! george being the centre of all random knowledge informed us all its exact powers and how much dmage it could do with a look of awe on his face i almost cried! we also noticed two other guys on the same bus with A.Ks as george calls them. scary stuff. we made it though without as much as a glance a the weapon but i almost didnt survive the journey from sheer nausia! when we finnally stopped for a loo break 4 hours in i was greeted with the worst toilet/hole in the floor ive ever seen and i like to pride myself on saying ive grown quite gutsy with the old hole in the floor scenario but no this was shocking. i took a photo on the disposible camera so you can all share in my pain when we return! (thats one for the album!) anyway vang veinne was beautiful we had a bamboo hut right on the river and had beautiful veiws (all of which you will have to imagine as i used up the disposible camera on the loo!) we went tubing down the river, which is as easy as it sounds they drop you off in huge inner tubes and you float down the mekong! all the way down there are tiny bars blaring out reggae tunes they drag you in with a rope and you drink and get free use of their rope swings! george was in his element and started many trends including one handed swinging...try and do a flip mid air swinging and many others. and i am proud to say still no injuries!!! TOUCH WOOD!!! the town was typically laid out for backpackers and had special bars with loungerplatforms covered in cushions to lay on and watch friends on huge screens! it was immense. we were most reluctant to leave espesh as the group we had been with were staying. BUT we left and arrivede in the capitol s***TY! bangkok only 30years ago which we didnt like everyone was rude and obnoxious mean glared at a bare arm and we had to stay in this awful hostel like somthing from a horror movie with what appeared to be poo smeared on the walls and a random lady mopping very slowly in the halls day and night.....(use your imaginations) to escape our hovel we went in serch of a bar and found a rooftop bar here we decided to treat ourselves to a very cheap bottle of wine. however they obviously very rarely serve wine as the waiter brought it over and left it on the table unopened and left us a pint glass, it was very funny. next morning after little to no sleep in the hellhole we crossed the thai border and were greeted by a comforting sign... TESCO! i found myself a lovely camera and was most chuffed. we were in nongkhai on the thai loas border only for a day but this was where caroline used to live so we went there to check out her lovely flating bar and meet her peeps that was nice. next on the same day was the overnight train to bangkok. we were expecting a bad ride but at least a few hours sleep...we didnt get that. i wound up somhow with topbunk as well and got bitten to near death by BEDBUGS!!! so 6pm to 6am was the train which was an experience. at 6am yesturday we found ourselves in bangkok with 12 hours to kill. luckily we are sneaky, we stored our bags and snuck into a posh hotel! (yes faye like tenerife only on a bigger scale!) we managed to camp out there using the loo and restaurant facilities including the lounge for 4 hours! after that little revival we explored the mbk mall which is 6 stories and too much to handle followed by the weekend market, the biggest market in the world. probobly not the best time to go but hey. we stumbled across the livestock area which made me cry. yes i cried in the market. they had hundreds of animals shuved into cages and they were so hot and sad. i handled the bunnies in dresses, the guinnee pigs even the cats but i couldnt handle the pug puppies....my future dog all crying out to be bought, 2months old...anyway moving on next we went to the koh san road just because it has to be done. that brought us up to 12 hours! so next it was bus time. We stank im not gonna lie it was foul. tried to sleep but at 4am this morning we were told to get off the bus and we had to wait for 4 hours in a room for our 4 hour boat ride....
we were slightly peeved but have arrived now! we have a little hut on koh panhan island. home of the full moon party and other such events we are tired but so happy we have a pool and the sea is about 5 steps away! we have our snokels prepared and ready for pure snorkelage tomorrow!
love to you all im going in the pool now with george xxxxxxx
