Retired & Traveling
After booking, canceling, and rebooking over a year ago, we were finally on our way to Copenhagen!
We picked up the Honnerts and it took us an hour and half to check in and get to the gate. Some of this was due to having to repack bags since some people (cough Pam and Rich cough) were over their 50 lb. weight limit. We settled in at the gate and started looking at our next flight's information. We were so confused about what to do once we landed in Amsterdam because our flight was showing operated by Air Canada but as a Scandinavian Air flight . We couldn't find anyone to tell us which carrier to go to either, and we only had an hour layover in Amsterdam, and no boarding pass or seat assignment! I was texting like a crazy person to our travel agent, Sue, and she was trying her best to figure it all out. The last text I had from her told me to check in with SAS.
We boarded our plane in Houston and then found out that there was a glitch with the plane's maintenance paperwork, so we were delayed departing by about 30 minutes or so--this did nothing for my stress level about the connecting flight!!
We eventually took off and then had so much turbulence that the flight attendants couldn't serve dinner. We ended up eating about 7:00 pm and I think I would've been happy with cardboard by then! :))
I got all my sleep gear on and cut off my tv--no pictures of me sleeping on this trip! LOL
