A rough wake up was not a good way to start the day, the hangover didn't help. We got up, packed our bags and headed straight out the door running on about 4 hours sleep. Hopping on a ferry, that to say the least, was a bit bumpy, we headed to Santorini, the final Greek island.
Winding our way up the high mountains we eventually made it to our hotel. This place was fantastic. A pool on our front door, a 5 bed room and the friendliest staff we had ever met. We loved the place so much and were so completely wiped, we just chilled by the pool all day and ordered food right to our seat.
When we eventualy got bored, and it did take a while, Zac out of the blue, decided to shave his chest to pass some time. He settled on a heart shape which we carefully sculpted out of his hair, turning out surprisingly well. However as he has been sick and yet to go shirtless out of the house, we are yet to see how it goes down with the girls.
Making our way into town we picked up ATVs once again and then hung around to grab a bite. During our desperate hunt for cheap food we finally discovered where people think of, when they think of Greece. Whilst I said this back in Ios, it was apparent that I had seen nothing yet. White buildings were crawling up massive hills, almost stacked upon each other and they all looked out over a view that I could have stared at for ages. It was made even more spectacular as we watched the sun set over the islands in the distance. We just sat there for a while, obsessed with the view. It was one of those wow moments that really make you appreciate where you are.
After a good dinner, we explored the town, seeing what Thira had to offer. Getting lost in the alleyways was easier than expected but after a while of walking around we got our bearings and decided to head home.
Whilst initially a swim and cards were suggested as an evening activity, as soon as the tv went on and people hopped into bed, both were scrapped and we all simply crashed.
