Spent the morning learning about Woomera history. From Outdoor Aircraft & Missile Museum to Woomera Heritage Centre and Museum. Amazing how countries as large as the US, UK, France & Japan manage to use an outback area like Woomera to test and develop missile technolody.
We then made our way to Coober Pedy. Once again the landscape is constantly changing. Still greener than one would expect. Amazing to see the water of Lake Hart in the middle of the dry country.
Also learnt today about the Great Artesian Basin, the largest and deepest in the world, an area of greater than 1,700,000 square km's (23% of Australia) providing fresh water through much of central Australia.
The landscape of Coober Pedy very much outback. Looking forward to exploring tomorrow.
