Baz up early and caught the sunrise. In to town (Mount Isa) to find some internet (Visitor Information Centre Internet Café) and do some work. Managed to get the Ranger booked in for a service tomorrow and grab some seafood. Pen, Jack & Pop's managed a sleep in followed by a nice walk past the dam to the cattle yards and former Rodeo grounds. Then spent the afternoon fluffing around the station, reading some books, playing Yatzee (Pop's the winner)...

A bit of a Sunday sleep in for some in our lovely free camp. We then drove a short way into Mount Isa, past the industrial site of the large mine. On a Sunday most things are closed however we visited the Visitor Information Centre for a coffee and some research. Great breaky for the kids this morning. Dunmarra apparantly has the best pies in Australia. Pie and ice coffee for Jack, Sausage Roll and ice chocolate for Pops - great parenting. Another long day in the car today as we creep closer to QLD. The kids got their journals up to date and we listened to a bit more of Watership Down. Today we started our backtracking drive to head to Queensland. Bit of a long drive but it had to be done. Stopped off at Katherine - lunch at Macca's (the kids were pumped), replaced the dodgy kettle (Pen was pumped) and replaced the UHF arial that snapped on the 4WD track (Baz was pumped).
