Well, finally managed to get out of the country so that is a start!!!
Hopped on the plane at 800am today and flew for 14 hours to arrive at lax, on the same day at 8am again. Talk about super weird time change!
The flight overall was ok. Other than the fact that I actually dislike flying and feel sick at the very thought, there were plenty of movies to choose from and a whole lotta other things to do!
I arrived at the airport very tired but freaking out. Through customs which took forever and the bag and out we go!
I was super grey and foggy at almost at 9 am but I got the feeling this was what LA was like all the time. It seems like the sort of city that starts later in the day and goes all night.
Anyway finding the shuttle was a little difficult but got there eventually and I drove off Into America!
Unlike figi or Vietnam, LA seemed a lot like Sydney or Melbourne. The main difference I found when driving in was that everything was done over the top. If you were going to have a stylish house it was excessively adorned with things that would have no purpose. Every restaurant and bar that I past was themed in one way or another. It felt like driving through Disneyland! All the houses were very nice too! Not a single junkie one!
I was dropped off at my hostel and I wasn't allowed in the room yet but I was able to drop my bags and decided to walk down Venice beach, what everyone talks about when they come on LA.
It was lucky my hostel was so close! two minutes around the corner and there it was in all it's glory. The actual beach was huge, it took me about 10 mons to walk from the start of the sand to the waters edge it was insane! Right next to the sand was this huge stretch of concrete which had people rollerbladeing, walking and hanging out. On either side of the road were tiny stores selling incense, bracelets and most importantly weed, and lots of it!!!!
I was stumbling around because I was so tired, and that's when I got ripped off for the first time on my travels. Couple of nice guys were handing out CDs if themselves singing and gave some to me. They were just nice normal And i was like yea! My boyfriend is a musician! Blah blah blah, thought i was being nice taking their album.
Anyway they then said ok I'll sign it for you and you have to pay a donation. So I did, I was way to tired to try and say know at that point in time! But I was savvy after that because a whole lot more of them came up ad I was like no!!!!!
So now I'm sitting near this outside sports complex, the sun has come out and it's really nice, just waiting for my room to be free so I can zonk out!
Xoxo
Peace
