Off Exploring
Greetings from some of the most gorgeous beaches in the world. Today was the best day by far, but more about that later. Yesterday was a day at sea. I pretty much have no budget for this trip, so I don't get to gamble or drink that much which is all right. Yesterday I went and hung out at the pool for a while. I love swimming so I tried to get some done since that counts as pretty much my only form of exercise on this trip (other than all the stairs! I have yet to take an elevator because I suppose I should be moving around a bit. That way I can hit up the buffets every night). Then I went to a battle of the sexes game and we lost to the boys by one point. They did have easier questions though. They didn't even know the answers to some of our questions! Most of yesterday afternoon is a blur...I know I went to the pool and then dinner wasn't until 8. I took a nap because I hadn't slept the night before much. Something about knowing that if you can't sleep you can go to the casino or the club or get pizza and ice cream at two in the morning. And it's all right upstairs. Then after my nap I ran into some guys that I'd met the day before so we went back to the pool for a while. Maybe we should hang out inside more because me and one of the guys were talking about how gorgeous the water was and how fun it would be to jump into it. Common sense stopped me though, and my fear of sharks. Last night was formal night, so I somehow managed to salvage my hair (it's been completely trashed thanks to salt water yesterday and today). Then I went to an adult comedy show and it was really good. After that was the midnight buffet, although I didn't eat any of it cause I wasn't hungry. I did take lots of pictures that I'll be able to post when I get home. Today we got to Cozumel a bit later than planned, but we made it. I had already booked the zip line tour and it was fun. They had rock climbing walls and suspension bridges. I did fine with it all expect for this one bridge because I was scared to step onto it. I'm not scared of heights yet, but with each passing year they make me more and more uncomfortable. Anyway, I did it and I have the pictures to prove it! :) Then we went snorkeling on the private beach there. I love swimming and ended up doing it for about three hours. I kept getting nervous because I was way way father out then everyone else and I would have been the perfect shark target. But I am very happy to report that I didn't see any sharks. I did get a nice sunburn though, despite the sunscreen applications every few hours. I have lots of pictures of the private beach. It was gorgeous and I loved the architecture there. I love Mexican style architecture and got lots of pictures of pretty arches with the water in the background. I also met a lot of cool people from the ship and hopefully I will run into them later. Tonight I'm taking it easy until dinner. I have the nice sunburn and I just ate half of the biggest slice of cheesecake I've ever seen (I was trying to get a sugar rush but seem to have missed the rush part and went straight to the burnout phase). The purpose of this cruise was to learn stuff for a longer cruise. This is my first cruise and it's only a 4 day one. I've seen cruises with two or three days in a row of ports and I thought that might be a bit much, but I think I'd love it. We had a day at sea yesterday and another tomorrow. While they aren't boring or anything I'd definitely like a cruise with more ports. I think I'll try a Caribbean one next time, or a western Mexico one. They have a Mexican buffet tonight and salsa classes tomorrow, so those are definitely on my itinerary.
