Hello from Argentina!!! So after nearly two weeks we have finally made it to our next destination (a little behind schedule). Brazil was absolutely incredible. After Rio we went to an island called Ilha Grande and stayed in a pousada (3rd Portuguese word) on the beach. We had an amazing view of the sea with a cute hammock on the balcony. The first night we went to a BBQ and meet some cool people who we ended up getting very drunk on cachaça (local poison) with! The island was real remote and has only dirt streets and bikes and boats as transport. We went on a day trip by speed boat to loads of amazing beaches (which I cannot tell you the name of as our guide hadn't a work of English) but they we beautiful all the same! After ilha grande we went to Paraty which is an old colonial town. This was a gem of a find as we had not planned on going there but wow was it worth the visit! We stayed in a hostel of the che lagarto chain and the atmosphere was great. Too many cachaça's here too! The bar man was unbelievable! We went on a kayaking trip around the bay which ended by us all swimming in a mud bath, which was all well and good until a crab bit me in the ass! Reluctantly we left Paraty and took a 6 hr bus journey to Sao Paulo and then another 14 hr bus trip (on a god awful freezing bus) to the Brazilian side of the waterfalls - Foz do Iguaçu. They falls we incredible! That phrase "life is not about how many breaths you take... but about the moments that take your breath away" was made for this place!!! I actually can't describe it! Today we came across to Argentina (where finally I can attempt to practice my Spanish) to see the Argentinian side of the falls. They were more up close and personal than the Brazilian side. However it was the Brazilian side that won my heart! Now we have checked into this cute hostel in Puerto Igauzu after the legs been walked off us and we a heading on for a well deserved drink!!! As tomorrow we face the dreaded 24hr bus journey to Salta!!!!
