The drive to Hluhluwe was interesting... I learned how to drive on the right side of the car, but on the left side of the road! Yikes... Also, here they like to make 2 lane roads into 4 lane roads for slower traffic you just use the shoulder, which makes things interesting when there are 4 cars coming at you 2 of which are in your lane! We made it with only minor scares even though it was raining :)
Today started off like I figured it would...dad waking up around 5 and going outside to enjoy Africa. Around 5:15 he heard and saw hippos and drug Cole and I out of bed in our PJs to go and watch them. It was actually pretty cool to hear them in the watering hole outside our lodge!
Today was our first day on the safari! We saw so much in just 3 hours!! We saw a white rhino and her baby, water buffalo, nyala, kudu, giraffes, zebras, impalas, warthogs, and a monkey. One of our favorite things was the dung beetles rolling their "s*** balls" as dad likes to call them :) Our guide also dug around in the rhino dung to find a rhino beetle - it was just like on the discovery channel!
OK, I'm going to attempt to upload some pics, but we took over 300 today between dad and I, so I'm only going to uplaod a few...we'll have to do slideshows later.
