Nik and Nat's Adventures
Hi,
So since leaving Krabi, we then headed south to Penang, which to be honest I wasn't all that impressed with, but then it did have alot to live up too. No beaches here! The hotel was fairly basic but was all that we needed. Went up Penang Hill on a very steep hill train, where the view was stunning from the top, and saw lots of monkeys. (No, not Natalie!) We then had a photo taken of us flying on a magic carpet soaring over Penang harbour, one of those things you will have to see later on, when I do some downloading!! Then went on a canopy walk which was fun. Went out in the evening and found a bar where it was ladies night and all drinks were free. (However the four boys weren't too impressed!) Charlie our tour leader who's favourite phase is "off the record lets get drunk", decided he wanted free drinks and swapped clothes with one of the girls. It didnt work though.
After Penang, headed for the Cameron Highlands, which was much cooler even had to wear a jumper in the evening. Went on Jungle Trekks and got very muddy, but then found a watefall to wash off in...great fun. Visited tea plantations and had a local brew, also went to a local village where I was taught how to use a blow pipe. Didn't manage to hit the target (a static shoe in-sole, so can't imagine how they manage to hit things that move.) After the highlands, it was off to Kuala Lumpur, and as Charlie lost a bet in Krabi, he hired a luxury coach for us on this part of the tour. Apparentley alot of bag snatching goes on in both Penang and here, but so far we have all been safe...touch wood! Went up the Menara Tower and had a good look at the city we are staying in, and as usual went out in the evening. But as everything is definatley getting more expensive decided to drink in the guest house before leaving. As Nat and I had by far the best and largest room again, (jammie us) everyone bundled in. Early start again tomorrow, as we will then be heading on to Melaka.
Love and Hugs
Nik
