Today went more smoothly than planned, with the exception that we got started later than scheduled. Tire pressures were a problem in the morning, so we spent some extra time getting prepared. Our travel was uneventful until we hit traffic east of Sacramento, where an RV had caught fire while driving down the interstate. Ash was scattered all over the road. Travel through the Sierra Nevada mountains was nowhere NEAR as difficult as our first trip. Seems like the trailer is pulling really well, and we are having no "fishtailing". After driving through Reno, we decided to keep going until Winnemucca NV before camping for the night. The last 100 miles before Winnemucca was tiring since there was little to look at and our work on the house (i.e., cleaning and packing) finally caught up to us. We are now safe and sound in a tent in the middle of nowhere.
Mark just looked in the trailer and found that my car moved back a couple feet, and is now digging through boxes to get access to the front straps to tighten things up... oh boy, another late night. Tomorrow we plan to leave early and make camp somewhere in WY... we will keep you updated!
