That's our mama in the picture. We stayed with her and her family for one night to try and get a real taste of Andean life. The food is delicious and our mama made sure we had plenty of it! It was a very simple house with a squat toilet and no running water but they arer happy! The community feel is amazing and everybody chips in to help one another out. They don't take anything for granted.

The women of the village weave beautiful alpaca clothing to supplement their living and as a result, they have been able to build a community centre. Whilst we were there we helped out in the fields, well I'm not sure how much we really helped as we had no idea what we were doing! I'm pretty sure they were laughing at us!

There's a lot to be learnt from the Andean way of life!
