We flew the 3000 miles from Santiago to the bottom of a Chile- Punta Arenas. The view from the air was amazing. Just snow capped mountain after snow capped mountain.
We found our hostel and just chilled for the rest of the day. The next day was when the exciting stuff was going to happen. PENGUINS!
In the morning we boarded a boat to go to Magdalen island, which is home to 69,000 Magdelen penguins. We were allowed one hour to walk around the island. It was amazing! You could get so close to them and it was beautiful to see them in their natural habitats. It was nesting time so you could see the chicks poking their heads out of the nests. The penguins weren't intimidated by us, they just carried on their usual routine. They are so funny and clumsy, we could have sat and watched them all day!
That's pretty much all there was to do in Punts Arenas. Next to Puerto Natales to tackle the Torres Del Paine.
