¡Hola!

Learning a language is an investment. It is an investment of time, money and dedication. We came to Montañita with our main focus being Spanish, Spanish, Spanish. So far we have invested about 6 hours a day learning the language and spending the rest of our time becoming more confident speaking with locals. We have met many people all of whom are patient with us as we slowly put our sentences and thoughts together.

We have finished three weeks of classes and are on to our fourth! We have finished PRESENT tense and now we begin PAST (PASADO). Its like learning everything we JUST learned, all over again. Its been frusting, entertaining and frustrating again. However, as our confidence grows, so will our thoughts and sentences. I am so happy we have decided to make this investment, as this is just the beginning for us to continue learning Spanish in the future. We are dedicated and motivated to keep it up!

So I think I described Montañita to you in the beginning: tan bodies, barefeet, dreadlocks, jewerly, empanadas, hamburgesas, y mucho mas! J and I are starting to fit in here: tan, barefoot, dreadlocks (only when I do not shower for a few days....don}t worry, they are not permanent) beautiful handmade local jewerly covering my body, empanadas almost everyday, a few hamburgesas consumed and mingling with the locals has really helped us make ourselves at home. Its been interesting and I am happy to know we still have a week and a half left!
