Sorry for the late entries but have been busy acclimatising.
Sydney day 1
Got into Sydney on time, flight was good, though didn't get the windw seats Joe had hoped for.
Bumped an upgrade on the room at the hotel to get a great view of the Opera House across Circular Quay. Rather than crash straight away we decided to tough it out for as long as possible, walked straight from the hotel out onto the quayside. Not before treating myself to an Aussie fat Boys breakfast!
We walked around central Sydney until Joe could take no more and we ended up back in the hotel by 2.15pm, that is not before bumping into Richard Branson & Stephen Fry. they looked tired as well.
Joe was amazed at the whole thing even the two Rosellas that hung around our breakfast table picking up the scraps.
having got to some well earned sleep at 2.15 we were all wide awake at 4 the following morning and struggling to get back to sleep.
Day 2
Not the best start for Joe he has obviously picked up a bug from the flight as well as really suffering with Jet Lag. He has been throwing up all day!!! We were hoping to get to Darling Harbour today but that is completely out of the window. Plus it is raining quite heavily, though not at all cold. Karen & I are taking it in turns for sick watch as the other escapes the room and explores the local area. Our hotel is in the heart of the Rocks area of Sydney and is full of history. Fingers crossed we get a better day tomorrow.
Day 3 Much better.
Joe has thrown off his sickness with an 18 hour sleep, something his mother can only manage following an average Vodka intake!!! yes you can guess it she is nowhere near me.
The day got off to another unusual start with a fire alarm at 5.40 in the morning. just what you need when you are trying to get your body in synch with with the local time. Is it wrong to long for a pint at that time in the morning?
The weather is definately better today still cloudy but dry & pleasantly warm. going to hit the main sights today now that Joe has his FULL APPETITE!! back.
Have been to the Aquariam, Wildlife centre as well as taking the Sydney Explorer bus around all the sights. Have just nipped out to the visitor centre to post this for you all whilst Mrs P & Joe put their feet up I am sure there is still a bit of jet lag knocking around. Oh and on the celebrity front met Bill Bailey today.
keep looking for Kylie but still no joy!
We are all very well and are slowly getting into our groove as far as the aussie adventure goes. I hope that you are all well.
I will try to get some pictures online but I am afraid my speed typing has eaten up the majority of my internet time.
Ray, Karen & Joe.
