HOPE & WISE
On this christmas I want to tell you a tale about two very best friends. The first friend is Hope, shes a wild one with dreams so far fetched. The older of the two is Wise, a smart and experienced, graceful being. The two friends shared the same views and beliefs, they worshiped the lord and cared ever so delicately for each other. While sharing the same love for the lord, they both yearned for similar lives. To find their soulmates, their other halves, their knights in shining armor, was but one of many dreams they shared.
While Hope started this search, she so optimistically put her trust, ALL of her trust in others. "I give the world my trust, and in turn I trust the world. The second anyone gives me a reason to lose this trust, I will shut them out and no more shall I look them in the face." Wise however, built a tower around her, and decorated it with small tokens of friendship to the top where she waited. Anyone who dared to take the tokens from her tower had to prove themselves to Wise until she felt them worthy of her trust.
Hope wore her best daily. Hopes favorite outfit was wearing her heart on her sleeve. Hope showed off her emotions as if they were rare gems. Some white and gleaming, other black as coal. She was proud to be so open to the world, to let so many in. Hope had a small army gathered around her daily, ranging in all shapes and sizes. On the opposite side, Wise kept her heart in a locket, tucked in her collar, close to her chest. It was filled with secrets, kept for her closest friends. Although Wise did not bear an army, she had an alliance with the kings and queens in her life, which proved powerful beyond measure.
Hope gave her love away like tiny droplets of rain. Everyone Hope knew got a refreshing kiss of dew on their cheek. Wise in turn, held on to her love tighter than she held onto her locket. Wises love was no where to be found. She gave her best friend Hope a daily dose of her love, but Hope was boggled. She did not understand where or why Wise hid the rest of it. Such a mystery, Hope wanted Wise to share it with everyone like she did.
The two friends did not see eye to eye on these areas, but one day Wise sat Hope down and explained: "my darling best friend, I have 5 years of experience on you, you must learn that not everyone can be trusted. there are so many princes out there who are deceiving and will tear your heart in two if you openly give it to them. Your army of friends, while you are strong in numbers, their weak in trust. What a better battle you could have in life if you maintain the dearest of friends in smaller numbers and your secrets are much more trusted among few instead of many. As for your heart my sweet friend, give NO ONE your heart. keep it locked up and guarded with the tenderest of care by only you, and the one who desires your heart the most will fight for it. That one person will wait a lifetime for you, he will give you the delicate attention you yearn for, he will gracefully step down when your overwhelmed, and he will give you his patience, all so he can one day have the privilege of loving you.
Hope agreed with Wise but shared her side of the story too. "while I agree with allowing people to earn my trust instead of giving it to them, why only give your love to few when you have enough love for many, and why only have few friends when an army will in turn HELP you protect your heart?" as for the girls' future knights, the two agreed to swap each others lockets and keep one anothers' Love safe until the opposite approves of who ever dares to approach these two beautiful ladies. Hope and Wise vowed to forever protect one another in such a strong friendship, that not even all the evil in the world could break it. <FIN>

Mama Willis WOW! Very nicely written, Aubrey, and touching since I know Hope & Wise personally! I have one comment to add and that is to pray for a prince that is a Godly man - one who loves the Lord. Trust the Lord and have faith! Miss ya & Merry Christmas! Love, Mama W.
