STUCK! today, the Monday before thanksgiving, we were suppose to depart for Columbus Ohio, which with out a doubt woulda given me a chance to see my family for thanksgiving. Now thanks to mother nature, we are stuck in Rochester, I have really enjoyed my time here, im just ready to move! you cannot keep a vagabond captive for long. I have done just about everything this city has to offer!
Not only have I started running 3.5 miles a day with Kimmy, I have done quite a few accomplishments here! the other night Manny took us to shellys jamaican cuisine down town and we tried ox tail, plantain and fried dumplings! it was awesome! My list of exotic cuisine is growing! my nails are finally growing out, no more biting, now if i can just keep the sailor mouth to a minimum haha! so hard being around pilots all the time. I also completed my 1,000th landing on sunday! cant believe it. thats alot of holding-my-breath moments on touch down haha!
the crew and I have been weathered out quite a bit here so we have done alot of site seeing. in my photos you can see the down town pictures at all of the great waterfalls we ventured to down the eerie river. we also payed a visit, and our respects to the veterans memorial, such an amazing sight to see of what our country has been through.
I think the best part of all visiting rochester was catching up with Ricky Thomas. I have known ricky since the 2nd grade! and now he is a famous Acapella singer in the group, 8 beat measure. definitely google them if you get a chance! He invited kimmy and I over for friends thanksgiving on saturday and we met the rest of his group. we pigged out on soooo much food! his fiend Meg was such a sweetie! I cant believe how much time she spent cooking, kimmy and I helped out alot when we arrived cuz the boys were too busy watching football haha!! at least we can say we earned our meal!
I guess the rest of this week, fingers crossed the weather gets better, we will be on standby all packed and ready for our one chance to get out of this town and move westward. I have been feeling abnormally homesick lately, just not sure for what or whom which makes me super confused. I really miss my momma and sister and our biking excursions. I miss kalyn and the willis family always being busybodies on saturday mornings, getting starbucks "crack" and hitting the gym while the parents work in the yard. I miss bonfires and watching BMS with the pilots. I miss my girl Lindsay and our sunday night dinners especially with her birthday coming up! oye ve! I cannot believe how much I miss my mornings with John at ADI and cracking up watching youtube "purely for acedemic purposes of course"! I guess I could go on and on but in all reality, I miss Michigan!!!
well, hopefully my next blog will be more interesting! and I will be in a better area! much love, Aubs!
