Did you get the pictures I sent you? It took up quite a few internet minutes but I thought you’d appreciate them! We’re on our way to South Africa now. Classes are actually kind of tough because we don’t have weekends so the class work is pretty intense because there’s no time to play catch-up. Technically you could do work while in port, but who wants to do that?! That’s it! Dad do you want an SAS t-shirt too? Do you think Ben will come on SAS next year?
Want to hear some exciting news? We lose an hour of sleep for the next 3 nights in a row! Yuck. Woke up at 7:45 today and my class was at 8am. Luckily it’s right by the dining hall so I grabbed some cereal and fruit real quick beforehand even though I was running really late. Sat with a very nice and cute boy that went to the Amazon and got his 2 front teeth knocked out by the tour guide (it was an accident) while they were hiking on the last day, haha. He was able to get them fixed in Salvador before we left last night. Today I went back to my room after my first class and slept from 9:30 til 12:45…luckily I got up then because I had class at 12:55! I missed out on mac and cheese and meatballs for lunch – I couldn’t believe it! I made the right decision though and went to class, not lunch. It would be smart for SAS to incorporate a recovery day after each port. Everyone is exhausted – both physically and mentally! Fitness classes start today so I’m going to go to my good friend Becky’s turbo kickboxing class. I’m going to take Advil beforehand because my hips have been bothering me a little bit. I’m afraid that I’m going to have a lot of trouble next season with field hockey because it’s been how long now and they’re not better. Of course it’s not nearly as bad as it was, but I’m surprised I’m still dealing with pain here and there. At 5pm, I’m meeting with my extended family. It sounds like I’m matched up with the doctor on the ship and his wife. I don’t think they have kids here on the ship. There will probably be 3-4 other students in our family. Should be cool! The sea is getting fairly rocky. Uh-oh.
