Today it was pouring with rain so we has to change our plans. After another yummy breakfast, we caught the subway across the river to the Museum of Science and Technology.
It was a beautiful building, and like all of China's public spaces that we have seen - beautifully laid out in spacious grounds and gardens. Some great exhibitions but a lot of the interactive things not working. It was filled with groups of school kids.
After, we caught the subway again to the Orient Pearl - the highest building in Shanghai but not worth going up as fog and cloud covered the top.
So instead we had to spend the day in a large shopping complex where we managed to while away a few hours.
Then another lovely experience - we used the Bund Sightseeing Tunnel which goes under the river and took us back to the other side. the tunnel is filled with a light show as you travel through it - all sorts of patterns and shapes and you were through to the other side before you knew it.
We then puttered up Nanjing Road - a famous shopping road. But by this time we were both rather sodden and Janet was squelching in her shoes, so we headed back to the hotel and hot showers.
We stayed in the hotel for the night - checked out the pool and the Club Lounge and bar-cocktail time - before finishing the night with a wonderful buffet.

Glyni Cumming A moment ago! So are you still on line? All very interesting, Lesley - and it's pouring here too and rather chilly - the central heating is on at home. We are all going to KidsZone to burn up some energy - Jules and I will take our lap tops and exercise our fingers!
