[MONDAY] Was up pretty earlier than normal this morning, as Gordon had pushed me to going and doing some travelling. Gordon had gone to work by the time Igot up, but Liz was up just doing a few things. Liz and I talked for a while before she said we better get in the car and drive. So we both got ready, I grabbed my camera's and wallet and we made a move.First Liz took me a quick drive around the town and then took me to where they used to live before moving to where they are now. They basically lived at the edge of town with endless green mountains out the back. Spectacular. We then continued up the windy road, which was nothing but green green green. Numerous houses and farms could be seen in the distance, as well as an unaccountable number of sheep lying everywhere. We continued driving, I was just amazed by the view, something I can't say I've seen before (except TV). Liz took me passed one of the 'gangs' hideouts along the road. Apparently, there are 2 or 3 gangs in the Pahiatua area which are pretty notorious. Never the less, we made our way to Mangatainoka, a small town you pass when heading to Pahiatua from Palmerston North. We stopped at the Tui Brewery, a beer which is quite popular in that part of New Zealand. Gordon drinks it too. The tours weren't to start for another hour, but we had a quick browse throught the Tui Store, before heading out to the Tararua Te Apiti Wind Farm. After driving up road, which I consider worse than the Mount Morgan Range, we made our way to the top. As Liz and I got out of the car, we had no choice but to look... UP. One of the windmills are only a few meters away, while the other 104 are scattered around everywhere. The wind farm was opening in December 2004 by PM Helen Clark. The turbines can generate enough energy to power on average, around 900 homes. We started taking some photos and footage. The wind was absolutely blowing like made, so here's me worrying about my bea-uuuutiful hair... haha. Liz and I managed to take a self-timered photos together. He then started driving down the hill and made our way to Palmerston North Shopping Centre. We drove around a few street to find a parking spot. We went to K-mart, and spent maybe just over an hour browsing and picking up a few things. We picked up a few things for lunch and then headed back to the car. Around 2:40pm, I got a text from mum, about the mail she'd picked up for me. Before we pulled out, I gave mum a call, and she read out some of the mail I had. On the way out of town, I told her I'd phone her early the next morning before she went to work.Just as we reached the outskirts of town, I swapped places with Liz, and drove the 'Pahiatua Track' back home. We stopped at the Post Office, so I could pick up some post cards. We then came home and unpacked out stuff. Liz was meant to go for a nanny nap, but we were so busy talking, it was just too late for her to do it. Gordon came home a little after 5pm and after checking his mail, took off to help his son Dean with renovations at their old house. I received a phone call from Anglo Coal back home, asking me to come in for an interview for a job I put in for a little while back. I told her that I was out of the country, and wouldn't be back until christmas eve. Hopefully that won't blow my chance, but there's nothing much I can do. I'll just have to wait till I get back and find out. I explained the situation with Liz, before she went down and started catching up on her 'Shortland Street' shows. While she was doing that, I started cooking dinner. The phone rang, it was Catherine, and wanted to speak to Liz. Liz said Catherine was bringing the kids around, and asked her to bring some milk around. For almost 2 days we'd managed not to run out of the little bit we had left !!My mince was on the go with the kids arrived. While it was simmering, Liz asked me to look at the TV/Video connections, so I handed her the video camera and told her to record some footage, so I'm at least in some of it !After that, Liz took Savannah and Skyla for a bath. Savannah wanted me to go in with them, and I'm like nnnnoooooooooooo! Cheyenne, went to her room and fell asleep. Liz dressed the two little ones and while she tried to get Skyla asleep, Savannah came in and kept me company while I dished up tea. It wasn't long after that, that Gordon rocked up and dinner was ready. Gordon, Savannah and myself sat in the lounge and ate tea just as Catherine came and picked up the two little ones. She left Cheyenne here to spend the night as she was still sleeping.Unfortunately I wasn't too impressed with my spaghetti bog. The mince was not the same as grandma's, but never the less, we all ate it, and the rest went in the fridge. I had a tingle in my throat since the morning and it wasn't too bad, but enough to notice it was there. While Liz and Gordon watched some TV, I made a start on my postcard, doing about half. During the hour or two there, I started getting a headache, so I packed up and went to bed.[END OF DAY 5]
