Well here I am again... still in London. I've just checked in to the Royal National where my Contiki tour departs from tomorrow morning. Its nearly 8pm here and once again I'm absolutely exhausted. So what have been up to you ask?? Well, yesterday I met up with Leah & Zoe who have just arrived from a Britain Contiki tour. We met at Buckingham palace which is ENORMOUS. We watched the changing of the guard which was heaps more than I expected it to be. I thought the old guards marched out and the new guards marched in... but it was much more extravagant than that. It was basically a parade including a procession with musical instruments. The place was absolutely packed of course. Once the march had finished, the guards then congregated inside the gate and performed a few numbers on their instruments. They played hits including the Grease medley (including Grease lighting and the works). Very bizarre but cool. I went to take pictures however the batteries died (by the way mum & dad, the rechargeable batteries are dead too). I went to use my video camera and accidently taped over some footage I took in South Australia. I did well didn't I. Anywho, after that we trekked through Hyde Park (very lovely), met up with another friend from Brisvegas and had lunch (which of course cost a fortune) then ventured into the most scary place I have been so far.... Oxford St. WHAT A MADHOUSE!! There were people everywhere, I hardly had space to breathe. We went into the well known Topshop (which is not a small store) and ladies were just everywhere. I have never been so fustrated. I have found so far that many sales people in shops and ticket people are quite rude.. but now I know why. I'd go mental spending too much time in there. After a few purchases on the trusty Visa we headed out to Wimbledon for a few drinks at a pub. And out of all the places we could of gone too, guess where we ended up???.... the Walkabout which is an Australian pub. Tooheys, VB and Jacobs Creek were there. It was pretty stupid though... coming half way around the world just to spend time in an Aussie pub... oh well. That was the end of my day. Today I got up early and headed with the girls to Harrods... and yes I know own a Harrods bag! I hate to be a sheep but I had to buy one. Whilst every designer was there with many items too expensive to even comprehend the highlight was the Food Halls. Absolutely amazing. Any food you could think of was there. All kinds of chocolate, every cuisine, meat, pastries, the works. It was pretty spectacular. By this morning I have gotten new batteries so I can finally take some photos. After lunch we headed to the National Gallery at Trafalgar Sqauare which was awesome. The square itself was amazing (alot of picture opportunities) and the Gallery was divine. I saw the works of DaVinci, Raphael, VanGogh. It was pretty amazing. After that we got lost for about an hour trying to find Piccadilly Circus. Unfortunately I made the mistake of not bringing proper walking shoes so I had to fork out £25 for a pair of Reeboks. Now I am at the hotel I've met a couple of people on my tour who seem really great. I've tried to upload some photos but the USB doesn't fit properly. Anywho I better get an early night. Its a 5:30am start tomorrow. And as you all know... I'm not a morning person. Bye for now.
