Well I'm FINALLY HERE!!! I thought that flight would go forever! I arrived to London-Heathrow at 5:15 this morning (London time) after 8 and 13 hour flights. I have some serious bummus numbus. My stop in Singapore was alright. The terminal that I waited in was like a shopping centre though. Shops absolutely everywhere... which of course means I had to buy something. MAC makeup in fact ;) Anywho when I finally arrived I patiently waited for my transfer bus which dropped me off at my hotel... now I arrived at the hotel at about 8am... but checkin in not until 2pm!!! Do you know how badly I want a shower and new clothes!! So in the meantime the hotel is looking after my suitcase while I try to kill 6 hours. So without venturing too far I had a look around the area (Earls Court) with my heavy backpack keeping me company. I bought some well needed coffee at Starbucks and read a local British gossip mag. Alot of it was about British celebrities who I had no idea existed. By this time I knew I couldn't hang around Starbucks all day so I attempted to accomplish a British right of passage... the tube!! Yup, after a not really helpful ticket agent I spent basically $10 aussie dollars for a one day pass for zones 1&2 and caught the tube (London Underground) from Earls Court to Russell Square. I was quite proud of myself but I guess small things amuse small minds But I didn't take the tube for the sake of it... I had a purpose you know. I went to the British Museum. Now I thought it was rather quiet when I walked in. It certainly didn't seem like a popular attraction except for the classes of school kids on an excursion. But other than that, there was hardly anyone. That was until I walked into the Egypt exhibit... people absolutely everywhere!!! This is what people come to see. Its rather amazing to see real mummies and sculptures from times such as 1000BC. Of course I took some photos but nothing with me in it. I look like hell at the moment (due to the whole no shower or change of clothes in 24hrs and hardly any sleep) and there was no way a mummy dead for thousands of years was gonna look better than me. Anyway I now sit in an internet cafe because I got lost on my way back from the museum. I really need to find a good map!
