Sooo quite a lot has happened in the past couple of months im acutally now in perth but shall updated on what happened since leaving brisvegas!
I loved Brisbane!! Wasn't too big and because i was working, i enjoyed my weekends. Saying that id only spend a couple of days here if your just travelling there really isnt that much to do!
Nightlife - i loved it! There was the valley but I only went there twice, wasnt my scene, good range of nightclubs but alot was full of CHAVS and 18s and under - imo! We prefered going out in the city to our usual haunts - thexchange really nice place, kinda cheap drinks, good music, and they have a rooftop with another bar and is full of hot aussie men :) Then there was the victory - go there for a cheesy evening, i rarely remember my nights there, one of them being when i broke into the britney spears dance.enough said...then there was UJ's (unionjacks) me and emma had a great time there sadly only made it once - always too very drunk to make it there by the end of the night good music though and decent people :) Thenthere was jills work - port office hotel/bar/nightclub - brilliant. many a good times, bit pricey for drinks but good crowd - we were luycky that jills boss loved us and so many free pissed evenings spent there!!
Hostels - we stayed at Brisbane backpackers the first time round, this is a good, clean and friendly hostel however the bar licence is only on til 10pm through the week and 12pm at the weekend - they do run free buses into the city centre though :D! and they play games and get everyone involved, saying that the first time i was there was in the summer, we then went again in june to say heeey and the place was dead! That might be everywhere at that time of the year though. We then stayed at tinbillys - the most boring hostel ever but good bar downstairs. It is clean and thats all i can say. We then got ourself a swanky apartment so it was goodbye hostels for 3 months. Once our lease was up and we were getting ready to leave we stayed at Bunk which is in the valley and a 10 min walk to the city centre, reaallly good hostel! clean and the rooms are awesome with own bathroom and the beds have private lil sections and ur own lil light! good hostel, fun friendly and good bar/pool and they have free BBQS!!
So the time came for us to leave, myself and emma went to Bundaberg on the 10th of July. I left brisbane extremely hungover and with only 2 hours sleep i was a little worse for wear - awesome night to say goodbye in brisbane th9ough :D! We arrived in bundaberg 7.5 hours later - what. a. dump. we were picked up and taken to Cellblock - looked good from the outside - total s***hole on the inside. We were greeted by the receptionist - who was pissed. We were shown around - disgusting i would never in my life attempt to cook or eat anything from the kitchen, then we got to our room. Well it looked like a cell. Bars on the window and plain white walls with dead cocoons on the wall! LOVELY STUFF. We shared with 3 guys -2 canadians and 1 english guy, they were actually really nice, and did not perve (or not that we nioticed) I was told i would be working at 6am and to be ready to leave the hostel at 5.30am the folllowing day. Well i got 3 hours sleep that nigth from all the noise. I got up at 5 still feeling like death and off we went to the farm. We had to drive ourself to the farm the guy actually said "if the van doesnt start tap on the box a few times and it should get it going" it did...and most vans had no lights working - fantastic when driving on pitch black roads and lots of kangaroos bobbing around! Another day ther were no vans thatr had petrol in them so 10 of us squeezed into a car - many of us in th eboot - another very safe journey and all part of the fun. My job was to pack tomatoes for 12hours a day, everyday and a measly $17 an hour. by 5pm i felt physcially sick with the smell of tomatoes and to this day i still cannot look at them the same way. I lasted 6 days at this job. $1000 made and off we went to Childers...
