Day 14: 5th Year Anniversary in Miami
We woke up to an awful weather. It just rained and rained constantly. The morale was not improved further when we realised the facilities in the campsite were rather poor. The showers only have one clothes peg for everyone to share and to compound the matters; all shower booths does not have locks. I was rather paranoid during showering if not only being disturbed by someone else but also being robbed of my clothes!
My mood was not improved when James and I drew the short straws and had to disconnect all of RV amenities such as the power sockets and the sewage pipes in the pouring rain. Stuart and Ashley went to the reception to settle the bill only to be greeted by further dirty looks by the owner after our late arrival last night. However once the owner learnt Stuart was deaf after he stated his preference to be contacted via text, he brightened up considerably and become friendlier. He even gave a sweet to Ashley; I think he is a closest surdophile who is someone with a fetish for deaf people!
We then press on to Miami, the rain finally cleared up soon as we left Tampa Bay. On the way, we decided to stop by at McDonalds for free wifi to quickly research campsites for Miami. I also discovered England was knocked out on pens in the quarter final of Euro 2012 again! We eventually arrived at the campsite where I got my first fly bite of the trip which was a sign of things to come.
The RV campsite was filled with green vegetation everywhere and at times I felt it was as if I was in a jungle! I decided to go for a quick swim with Sara and Richard where we discovered the campsite has a hot tub along with a huge swimming pool. Looking back, Miami campsite was one of my favourite campsites along with Las Vegas.
Sara and I then kicked everyone out of RV to enjoy a candlelit dinner to celebrate our five years anniversary though we felt bad after a while and let everyone back inside once again even if it was warm outside at the night! However when we was about to go to sleep, we discovered there was a leak on the roof above our bed and our pillows were soaked. I had to dry them with Julie's travelling hairdryer which was amusing!
