Hey all!
Sorry it's been a little while since my last update but as you can imagine I've been really busy. I started work on Tuesday at Captain Cook Cruises. It's a small ship cruising company that offers a variety of trips within Sydney Harbor, including ferries to the zoo and other attractions as well as weekend cruises, Murray River in Southern Australia, the Great Barrier Reef, and Fiji. They have recently changed over to a new style of branding and I'm helping them implement it on their brochures, flyers, website, etc. The people in the office are all really nice and there's another intern there who came from Germany.
On my first day I spent the morning working on the accreditation process and writing up some feedback on their old look. In the afternoon they sent me on a coffee cruise so I took a walk down to Circular Quay, where the Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge are located, and had lunch while watching a street performer before getting on my cruise. The cruise itself was great and we saw many of the highlights of Sydney as well as 3 nude beaches (one complete with nude people...), some dolphins, and a boat that had crashed on the rocks a few weeks ago (luckily no one was hurt). It was a pretty easy first day. In general work hasn't been too bad. I work right off of Darling Harbour next to the Aquarium and I get 30% off in the gift shop.
I actually went to the Aquarium the other day with Erin and her friend Brody and it was absolutely amazing! I saw some incredible sharks and if you know me you probably know that I LOVE sharks. I saw the biggest manta ray I've ever seen in my entire life, some gargantuan lobsters and crabs, MOON JELLYFISH!!! :) (jellyfish are some of my favorite creatures in the entire world), and all sorts of other awesome fish and things. Don't worry, I took plenty of pictures.
Tonight me and some friends met up after work to go to Max Brenner's which specializes in chocolate. It was something like heaven. I had a belgian waffle with chocolate, ice cream, and strawberries and a cappuccino. Now I can die happy.
I'm going to try to put up some photos tomorrow but at the moment I'm exhausted and I'm going to head to bed. Peace, Love, & Chocolate.
