We had hit the city!! As we got off the bus at Retiro station we were totally overwhelmed with the craziness of the place. We finally managed to find the tube station after going to the train station and bought our ticket whilst scrambling with the map about hwere we should be. The tube station just reminded me of London, people everywhere moving in every direction with heat that makes you sweat all over your body! We jumped on the line we thought we should be on, rucksacks on our back and hand luggage strapped to the front. Next thing, we hear a "hello guys!" and look behind us on the crammed carriage to see a girl we met in Chile,... what a small world this is! She was spookily getting off at the same station as us and only lived 3 blocks from our hostel so we caught up with her and she directed us as we changed tubes and made our way to "Chill house".
Ahhh this place was like heaven. After a hectic journey to the hostel we were met by a really cool owner Kato and chilled out on the top terrace in the sun the whole afternoon before jumping in a cab to the airport. This was a story in itself as I had befriended an english girl who had managed to miss her flight to New Zealand and so had to buy another ticket. After meeting Shez we then took her to her check in desk to make sure she got on OK as by this point she was stressing. What travellers do for one another!!
Shez was doing really well and didnt feel too tired after his long and boring flight so after getting back to the hostel we headed out around 11pm for some food. Would you believe it the restaurant we wanted to go to was full and we would have to wait an hour, at that time of night we thought it would be dead! Welcome to BA, the land of late living! After grabbing a pizza and catching up with Shez we headed back to the hostel for some sleep, we knew we had a busy few days ahead of us. Ash and I were looking forward to having Shez with us and sharing our time in South America with him. Bring on the good times!
