Waking up we had a nice breakfast with our own noodles, good start to a new day! Satisfied we went for another walk through Hong Kong. This time taking a trip through the park, checking out the botancial gardens along the way, to end up in Pacific Place for memories sake. From Pacific Place we walked on 1st level walk ways towards the Star Ferry. This brought back another memory. That of the stunning amount of Filipino women hanging around the streets.
We managed to reach the Star Ferry despite the blistering heat and the many, many, many Filipino women all over the place. The classic Star Ferry to Kowloon also fell into the category of memory lane. We spent the rest of the day walking around Kowloon side. Tsim Sha Tsui, Nathan Road, Mongkok and all the markets there... where Q was especially endeared with all the cute pets (shortest market of the bunch but we spent the longest time there). All the walking was tiring us out and since we're a fan of skybars we were happy to know that the heighest one was around the corner!
The Ozone sky bar gives a view of HK which is higher than the Peak observation level AND serves drinks!! So as far as a view goes, not bad...
Strangely enough they even serve a 750ml bottle of kriek, which we ofcourse had to order.. especially since it would last us long enough till sundown. Having checked out the view and had a few drinks we were now on the hunt for some food (and more drinks to be honest). So we took the subway back to the Island side and the escalators up to SoHo. Here we managed to score some snacks and more beers before retiring back to the hotel after another long day with a considerable amount of walking.
And now we're up to the last day in Hong Kong already. Once more starting the day with a selfmade noodle breakfast (or brunch, considering it was already passed 10) courtesy of Q. We packed our bags, always a sad moment in any journey, and while checking out left our bags behind the counter for our remaining time in Hong Kong. We wandered off to the best Dim Sum in town (or at least the smallest Dim Sum restaurant). Where we had lunch, and it was actually pretty good Dim Sum at that complimented by a lemon tart delicacy. We intended to chill at a bar with a harbour view at the Exchange mall... but got sidetracked by the Minions movie. BaNAnas!!!
Bananas made us think of food (you'd think there is a pattern to our travels). So on our way back to the hotel we took a detour for some Belgium fries, which were good, but not 'Vlaams' by any means. And with our last meal concluded we picked up our bags and left for the airport, this time by subway (decidedly quicker but also 5 times more expensive... meh, it let us stay longer in Hong Kong).
At the airport we spent our last HK$ charged our phones and departed for our next country, Thailand!
