Arrived at our destination and got packed into the back of a pickup truck with seven of us plus seven large ruckscks a bit of a tight fit but normal for transportation in Thailand!Driving to our bungalows we got a good idea of what the island was like.Trevor was reminded of some of the quieter towns and villages in Jamacia so where we on to a good start.Our new home was really cool again bungalows on the beach but they where twice the size we had been in before and half the price thats just what we like!It was a really cool place so chilled out and it had such a good vibe about it we instantly settled in and got comfortable.We watched our first sunset on the beach having a drink at the nature baech bar which was attatched to the bungalows and was run by thai Rastas!

The next couple of days we donre what we doo best in Thailand chillout and take i all in.We met some really cool people whilst chillin out ,jo ,anna and Beth from london.Really lovely girls we spent our second night on the beach having a few drinks with everyone.Jo and Beth had discoverd that they both loved Madonna abd where in need of a cheesy dancing session so on goes Madonnas immaculate collection!

We decided to have a good look around the island and hired out our own moped which we named Tina (I know sad isnt it) ther is no need in Ko Lanta for any driving licence all they want is your passport and when we asked about insurance they said we dont have insurance on Ko Lanta!Anyway we drove to viewpoint where you can get the best views over the island which was really nice then we drove to the oldest part of Ko Lanta which had lots of really old style house and looked relativly untouched by tourism.There was a really old light house there which trevor ventured up and got a really good look of the island.Then drove to the other side of the island to have a look at the Nathional park and get a look of the coustline from the other side.We thought the roads would be good the whole way there but they proved to be the coplete opposite massiv postholes EVERWHERE!Jo was holding on for dear live!Its was getting dark and a little scary so we turned back and thought we would try it again another day! back along the coast road watching the sun go down graet end to the day.

That night we had booked to go on a four island tour taking in islands around Koh Lanta by speed boat with Beth and Anna.Unfortunatly after spending the night bragging about not being sick yet in Thailand and having great food jo gets food poisening and was out for the next couple of days.

Fighting fit and back into action we hired a jeep out for the day with Beth and Anna.It was kinda like driving around in our own little sardine can on wheels!We where all crammed in and fit to go well kinda!We drove up to the end of the island that we did not manage to get to by moped!There is a National park there were you can hike to the top and get some really good views.Along the way we saw Monkeys which we have both decided that we actually hate now!They are right little cheeky monkeys
