Day 4
Today I woke up to monkeys on my balcony making noise and jumping around. Shortly after noticing the monkey sitting staring at me on my window sill, my doorbell rang. Still not fully awake, I had to show two new students around and find a room for them since Swami (our yoga instructor) was gone for the weekend. No big deal…glad to help I took a bucket shower this morning. Because there is no shower, they fill a bucket with hot and cold water adjusted to your temp, and use a cup to pour the water over yourself. I was so cold that I ended up standing in the bucket to absorb as much warmth as possible…I even tried to sit in it…didn’t work… I am thinking about buying a wash bin, the kind you wash clothes in and making a bath out of it…I can tell that this bucket thing will be getting old soon I consider myself one of the lucky ones who has a toilet vs a hole in the ground like some of the other rooms. Anyways one of the fellow students, Michelle and I, went on a hike in the Himalayas to a waterfall. There were actually two of them and a cavern area. Cant wait to show everyone the pics! It was absolutely beautiful! We got back and headed straight to the yoga studio and did sun salutations and head stands. Michelle has been teaching for 8 yrs, so she is already advanced…unlike my 2 bikram sessions of yoga. That is the extent of my yoga experience Because I am physically fit, she showed me how to do advanced posses which I seemed to pick right up. I am really liking yoga!
