I softly woke up to the cacophony of the street. The first challenge was to take my shower without swallowing any water, and reasoning myself to accept there would be no bubble-singing for the next 3 weeks...
As clean as I could get in a mould-smelling bathroom, I stepped out on the street for the first time - NOW WOW that was the indian moment !! just like your first bite of a curry, where all senses are stimulated in a flashing moment - seeing all this life, this mess I was mesmerised ...I would have had to pinch myself, if it wasnt for that timely honking coming from the right. I dodged the rickshaw and started walking around the markets. Strangely enough, there were barely any westerners.
Starting to make my way to the city, I met Israeli Sivan who was glad as well to meet another westerner. We shared a rickshaw around the place, decided to find the mall. Our friendly driver said he was first going to take us instead to a small mall. Being happy to detour and the whole trip being AU$0.40, we cautiously said yes, even though we could smell the fish. We had indeed caught a king tuna as the small mall was just a shop with some fancy textiles in it and a whole fishing crew of assistants. I barely stepped in and asked him to take us back, putting a sad face on his dial.
