Europe Trip 2013
Today we visited the Schloss Neuschwanstein and Schloss Hohenschwangau in Nouthwest Bavaria. We toured the inside (guided, no photos) and outside. The architecture was gorgeous. There were over 100 painting in each building depicting history and fairytails. Hohenschwangau was first constructed in the 12th century's as a mid evil fortress, fell to ruins in the 1500's, then restored in the 19th century. King Ludwig II of Bavaria lived in this castle and 1869 when he began building Neuschwanstein were he lived for a little over a year and died in 1886. I also ate a bratwurst and tried Grappa (pomace brandy, yuk!)
