Wake up on the bus to Sapa! Got there at 6am, had a couple more stops then get off the bus at 7.30.
As usual as soon as you get off the bus people trying to sell you hotels, guest houses, taxis and anything else surround you like moths to a flamer! Literally following you, shouting at you all selling the same stuff! We are used to it though! But seriously at this unhealthy hour I'm not the nicest of people!
Collected our rucksacks from the side of the road, no one has been through our rucksacks since Thailand on the night buses! I thought it would happen everywhere! Maybe it's because locals get on the night buses here as well! I feel kind of unwanted!! Why don't you want to steal my things!! :(
I didn't realise how different the people would be! I have seen pictures of the rural people but only thought there would be a few of them! Not 80% of the people! They have the biggest eyes and toothy smiles I have ever seen, think Cheshire cat!
The women wear head to toe black cloth with colourful embroidery, colourful head cloths depending on which village they are from, carry baskets on there backs, have lots of silver bracelets and huge plugs in there ears. You will have to look at my pictures it's hard to explain!
This lady was rabbiting on and on about her guest house so as she wouldn't leave us alone we said we would look at it! It was beaut! She should have just shown us a picture!
It's called Minh Quan Hotel. It costs us 160000 dong (£5.30) per night. Went out to a stall for breakfast! Ordered eggs and a hot Vietnamese coffee!
When the coffee came it had like 3 different glasses, a bowl, a filter and different cartons! So I asked the girl how to do it! She just laughed at me and showed me but seriously it was the most confusing invention ever!! It was worth it though! Shaking from all the caffeine though they like it strong!!
Walked through the market to get home! They sell the things that the village people make along with all the usual Asian market things!
At the guest house we booked a tour for tomorrow, it cost 420000 dong (£13) each and we are trekking to 3 remote minority tribe villages from 9.30 till 5 including lunch. Can't wait!!!
Slept for a few hours as we are always tired after the night buses, got up, had some noodle soup from a street stall and lemon juice! They heated the juice and it was the nicest I have tasted! We then set off walking to Cat Cat Village at 2.
It took us 20 minutes to walk to the checking station where you have to pay, can't remember how much but it was pence. We got a free map and tickets to a traditional dance show in the village.
We were walking up and down the side of mountains for about 30 minutes to get to the village. My ears were popping the whole way!
I don't know what I expected from this traditional village it was so strange! They all live in wooden huts and have stalls selling tourist things like bags, bracelets and clothes! So it wasn't as natural as I expected but I guess they have to make a living out of stupid people staring at them taking pictures!
There is wild buffalo roaming around here! The kids jump and climb all over them but they don't mind! I guess they are used to it!
It is a huge village! We walked all the way through it then down to the Silver Waterfalls which was absolute paradise!
We got real Tyra about life here taking pictures of each other and we asked a lady to take a picture of us together but she was a waste of time! Seriously who zooms into your face in a place like this! It's all about the background!!
We tried to get picture on the not so robust bridge but the children play 'tourist overboard' here by shaking the bridge which they find hilarious! Brats! Where is super nanny when you need her! We need a naughty step!
We then went to watch the traditional dance show, there was one guy and 6 girls dressed colourfully with umbrellas dancing in a stage in a hall. It was nice to watch but really repetitive.
On the way out we saw some adorable little ducklings with there mother walking around! Got some pictures as I have never seen anything as cute! Turned the corner and there was skewered baby ducklings on a BBQ! Mortified wasn't the word! Run for your lives!!!
Stopped for an ice cream on the way home that was advertised as strawberry but was actually chocolate, watermelon and nuts. So puke on a stick.
Got home at 6 so the full walk only took 4 hours! It was scorching hot though!
Got back, ready and went out for tea at an indian! It was lush! Apart from the family behind us who were, well they were just pure geeks!
We saw a lot of family holiday makers in Thailand, about one family in Cambodia, about 3 in Laos and now seeing family's again is weird! They are always hippie family's though! Which 7 year old wants to go and see minority villages when thy could be in Disney land? Or at home with an Xbox! These parents are kidding themselves! The kids clearly hate it and will never remember it anyway! Waste of time.
It started raining really heavily while we were eating! I don't mean heavy for England I mean heavy for Vietnam! A tropical rainstorm! The restaurant was on a hill and the road was a river, mopeds struggled to get up it! We asked the restaurant for a plastic bag so we could put everything in it then back in our pockets as it would have broken!
We speed walked all the way home through this monsoon in our shorts and flip flops while everyone stared at us! You couldn't run in it as the river up to your ankles would have tripped you up! Then a toad jumped onto my leg! What more do I need! Asian drain water and a diseased toad! Really?????
Raced Michael to the shower first! We actually have a hot shower here which is rare that we have so it was lovely!
Wrote some blogs but really can't be bothered these days! We get so distracted by anything and everything! So we just ended up having a girly night in all night ❤
