Got up at 12, walked to the Urang Belanda Art Cafe for breakfast! The guy serving us literally stood an watched us eat our whole meals! Awkward!!!
Decided we had to go and see more sights so walked to the centre of the historical part.
Went to St Paul's Church first, it was cleaned and transformed for the visit of Queen Elizabeth the second and the Duke of Edinburgh in 1972. Huge granite tombs stones line the walls inside with Portuguese and Dutch writing on them.
Michael demanded one of these when he died... That can be arranged soon if he doesn't shut up! His tomb would read 'Hear Lies Michaelotz Van Shirleyvitz, King Of Endless Demands!'.
The church was packed with tourists, getting in the way of my pictures! Go home!
At the back of St Paul's Church is a Dutch Graveyard, the cemetary was used between 1670 and 1682. They are all crumbling and are shaded by trees. I thought this was the perfect place to pretend I was a zombie to scare michael, which worked! Still soaking in the culture and respecting the dead!
At the back of St Pauls Hill is Porta De Santiago which means the old gateway. It was built by the Portuguese in 1512 and was one of the 4 main gates to the Portuguese Fortress. It was built using forced slave labour and many of them died due to over heating and hunger. It has 8 foot thick walls and is 20 foot high. Same same...
After walking around all these places we went to get a lemon juice but my favourite lemon lady wasnt there!!
Later we went to a massage place at 3 as our backs are still killing from our rucksacks! Went to a place recommended by lonely planet. Ended up getting half an hour full body massage which absolutely killed! These Malaysian woman as like beasts!
We then got ear candling done! We had never seen this before! It's so strange! She laid me on my side then shoved a hollow candle in my eat and lit it! It sounded like when you listen inside a shell on the beach. It wasn't hot but it's supposed to suck out all the bad poisons and clear out your sinuses! Very strange.
I asked to keep my candle at the end so I can stick it in my scrap book. The manager sat us down after and we ended up talking to get her for an hour! She was lovely! Her son lives in London and she wants him to come home! She gave us a cup of Chinese jasmine tea! Love it! Staying talking till 5.
Went back out at about 8, it's the weekend market and it is so packed! On monday is was like a ghost town and now you couldn't move or even breath!
Walked to see a street show of a guy who is in the Guinness World Records
Book for pushing his index finger through a full coconut. On a scale of 1 to insane this guy was definitely mental! He milked it for ages! In the time it took I could have done it!! He did do it though! Stabbed his finger through the green bit of it! In the film castaway Tom Hanks couldn't do it for ages!! It was ridiculous though! But free to watch just had to watch your belongings.
There is a stage with live bands playing all night at the other end of the market! Michael thought the guy singing was a girl! Oops!
The food stalls here all smell amazing! I had battered and fried vegetable cake and a spring roll in chilli sauce, they cut it up and put it in a sandwich bag with a wooden stick to spike them with! It was amazing to be honest! Michael had friend garlic potato which was amazing as well! Probably about to clog my arteries for life though!
Bumped into Kelly and Lee walked around the market! The market was to packed to talk for long though!
Me and Michael went to Lubar on the bar street and had a jug of beer. Bumped into those two German lesbians that we spoke to in Perhentian islands. They are still rude but are ok
I guess. A bit delusional as times but ohwell!
Went to the Geographer bar until it closed at 12! Everything shuts early!
Went on a massive hunt to find a bottle of water but no where was open, on the street there was dead pigs cut in half laying all over the floor while one guy was chopping them all up in preparation for tomorrow! At least Michael knows his pork is fresh now! Pretty rank though.
