So, after we said goodbye to Andi and used the wifi we walked to the travel agent where we were being picked up at 2am!
It took an hour and a half to get there, he said usually people sleep but we didn't, the driver played Adele and Amy Winehouse all the way there so we sang to him, which I'm sure he appreciated!
Got there and we met our guide who is called Winoi. He gave us torches as it was 4am when we set off! Looked around and everyone else was wearing hiking clothing with massive walking shoes! Freaks! Michael wore fashion denim shorts and I had leggings!
So we set off at 4, Michaels torch stopped working after about an hour which he didn't like to complain about at all....
Trekked to the bottom of the volcano, it was flat all the way but there was volcanic ash covering all the pathways! So I constantly had an ash cloud all up in every crevice!
Felt like we walked up and up and up forever and a day! I swear we passed heaven and kept going! Other guides had to stop with there tourists but we did need to, which made us feel good! I guess as we have done so many treks now we are used to it! Some people do walk so slow though! One woman was being dragged up by the guide! I mean really???
Walked way past the top of the clouds! The view was crazy even if it was still night! We got to the top of the volcano and stayed near the crater to eat breakfast, hot banana sandwich and a hard boiled egg! Had to pay 25000 Rupiah (£1.75) for a small water!! Ridiculous! I supposed they carry them up on foot though!
The sun rise was at 6.15! Stayed at the shelter at the top for 10 minutes then Winoi said we should walk to the summit for the rest of the sun rise! The summit was quite summit ;)
Stopped halfway up for pictures, it was amazing to be honest! There was another volcano in front of the sunrise so we got to see it rise behind it! Amazing colours, orange, pink, grey, blue, yellow and a million more!
Fell over about 1849.26 times! This is nothing new though but when you are at the side of a crater you need to keep your stuff together! Michael wouldn't even bat an eyelid if I fell in! I want to push him in! Maybe he would cause an eruption though so maybe not!
The guide decided to tell us half way up the summit that someone died here 1 month ago from an asthma attack! PERFECT! Just what I need to hear, Michael burst out laughing and showed him my inhaler! I don't want to die! So apparently this dead French guys ghost is roaming the summit! He can roam somewhere else thank you very much!
Got to the top, lots of people took one photo of each other then just photos of the view, not me and Michael! Everyone stared but we will have amazing photos for the rest of our lives and they will have one awkward photo! It's not like in going to trek back up here to re take it!
Had a laugh with Winoi at the top, we asked him all about his life and be asked about ours. He told us he lives at the village at the bottom of the volcano and hasn't been anywhere else apart from Bali once to visit someone in hospital! He is 29 and has a 6 month old son! He said when he was younger he used to be scared of white people! He would run and hide behind trees when he saw them as he didn't think they were humans! Winoi is a funny guy!
He also told us about the volcano, it's 1170 meters high, the last time is erupted was 2006 but no one was killed and many people die climbing up it, a American girl fell in the crater last year! What a muppit!
Some gay guy at the top decided to be rude to me, everyone knows I love a gay but really! Rolling his eyes at me and talking about me to his mid-life crisis boyfriend. These holiday makers can go home! He knew how I felt about him. What a queen!
Walked back down, overtook the queens as clearly they can't hack it, nearly pushed them off the cliff. Saw a local woman carrying a big sack and Winoi told us its bottles of water! Michael fell on the way down, he only fell over about 28 times compared to my 28000 but he gets to embarrassed it's hilarious! Drama drama!
Collected some volcanic rocks on the way down to stick in my scrap book! Remembered Jack telling me once about a disease you can get from the ash of volcanos and it's the longest word in the English language. Something like newminultramicroscopicsilicovolvanoconiosis. I told Winoi about it but he said I was crazy!
Got back to the car at 9.30 after 5 hours of walking and no sleep I fell asleep in the car. Stopped off for food but I fell asleep in that to! Haha I can hack it if I'm out partying but walking up and down a volcano is something else! It took 2 hours to get home and the driver woke up both up when we arrived!
Got home at 12.15 and we were going to sleep on the beach to get a tan but we were still to tired! Slept until 3!
Met Andi and we all went to Kuta, walked along the beach to a shopping mall and went to the Ocean View Restaurant at the top. Had Pad Thai as we haven't had it since Thailand but its better in Thailand! Can't wait for the street sellers there!
Went home, got money out, got ready, had a couple of mixmax's then went out at about 11.30! Drank wine all night again much to my stomaches disapproval. I am beginning to enjoy it now though! Omg I'm growing up!!
Met Neap and Dhika who was wrecked! It was a crazy night as usual! All the taxi drivers now think I'm a Banchong (lady boy) which I tell them I am. Haha
In Mixwell there was a power cut, no music or light in a club! It was so strange! Started singing single ladies haha! Only in Asia would this happen! I think it was a normal thing though as no one looked surprised!
I absolutely hate that it closes at 2! Went with Neap to La Vida Loca, a club on the beach but even that had shut! So I just went home! Got home at 3 and fell straight to sleep, it had been a very long day!
