At 10 me and michael took a pre booked tuktuk to the killing fields. Words cannot describe how scary the roads are here! The most scared I've ever been on a road! It's a free for all! There is lanes but no one uses them so at one point there was 2 lorrys taking up both lanes coming in our tuktuk's direction, the driver didn't seem to think this was a problem though, he just drove on the pavement and then through a shop! Logic.
The killing fields costs $5 (£3.18) each to get in which includes the headset tour guides. We were at the killing fields from 11 till 2.30! I kid you not it is the most upsetting place I have ever been to!
It's a bit like what happened in Germany with Hitler. The Khmer Rouge tried to make Cambodians a pure race. 1 in every 4 people got murdered! 2 million people got murdered out of the 8 million population between 1975 and 1979! They didnt like the people who lived in the city and loved the people who lived in the country. Horrible isn't the word.
We went to the main killing field in cambodia were 20,000 people were killed.
There was 19 stops where the headset would play and tell you all the information. All the way along there was bones sticking out and clothes in the soil. One of the most upsetting parts was where the women were raped then killed. The field has so many deep holes in where the bodies were mass buried.
By far the most upsetting part was where the babies were killed. Grown men held babies and toddlers by the ankles and swung them at this big tree until they were dead then tossed them in a grave. I cried and cried. Not everyone died at the killing fields and it was only 33 years ago.
Got home about 3 and ordered a sandwich from the guest house! Decided to sit outside! Bad idea. This dog sized wasp decided I was a sweet treat and chased me down the street! Everyone fell about laughing including Michael!
Met Da at about 7 and he took me to the river front to share a pizza. Totes adorb balls. Again trying to act cool didn't really go in my favour!
We walked back to 2 colours where I met Katy (from Siem Reap) and Michael! It was the lady boy show tonight! It wasn't as good as the others that we have seen but was still funny! Didn't want to be mega touristy so didn't take any pictures!
Me, Michael, Da, Din, Katy and John walked to Blue Chilli after! It wasn't as good! A strange boy came and sat next to me! He was on drugs but was so hilarious! He said and I quote 'this one time in April 2009 I sneezed on a train from London to Leeds and everyone stared' sorry details! I didn't like him, he had had shakes, pills and weed then a tuktuk driver came up and have him a green tablet which he accepted! Mate you need to get a life!
Walked to Pontoon club which makes a difference, even though it's next door to Heart of Darkness! The music wasn't as good and the drinks were more expensive! We met a couple more friends in there then went next door! The bouncers in there say I should just get a job there! DONE!
Had a disagreement with Da but after we walked to the stalls where 2 guys started telling me how much they love me, totes awks!
Went to this Khmer restaurant but it's like a hut with a wok. We all got food but then realised non of us had any money! Great! Oh well! Katy paid and we will pay her back tomorrow!
Me, Da, Michael and Din walked 8 blocks to 2 colours! It was light by then and everyone was at work! Hilar! Da opened up his bar and we all had a last drink this was at about 8!
