*note this photo is from colorado springs and the closest fromthe stock photos on the blog site i could find, we drove through ther but didn't actually visit. Until i upload my own...it'll do
just a quick update as I use up my $1.00 worth of internet access at the public library.
Went to rocky mountain national park which i will post pictures of later. Hikedaround bear lake on giant mounds of snow, yes, snow. Saw wild elk and drove up to probably 9,000 feet in our little rental Yaris. Amazing views.
Drove 600 miles from Colorado to New Mexico to stay with Melanie's family in Gallup. Her dad and brother took us on a 12 hr adventure across 2 other state lines (arizona and utah) and we saw lots of the navajo reservation in arizona. We went to Canyon de Chelly, Window Rock (which is the navajo capital), and Monument Valley which was just unreal. Most of the ride was on dirt roads and felt like we were in a washing machine. Ate lots of sand and were pretty much covered in dust by the time we got back home but it was the most amazing place I have ever seen. Until I post images you'll jsut have to google it.
We've seen lots of crazy road signs (Gusty winds may exist), tumbleweeds, lizards, hogans, rock, isolation, wild horses and beautiful scenery. Next stop Santa fe on Monday.
ta ta til then.
