Deadwood is an amazing place, steeped in history and mythology about the west, we had 3 amazing days with Steve our fabulous host, he gave us drive itineraries and showed amazing hospitality.

Arrived weary after 24 hours travelling into rapid city in the middle of a big storm with hail and winds. Picked up our hire car, a big ford explorer and headed to Deadwood where we received a warm welcome from Steven an Aussie who lives here. His house is over 100 years old from 1887. A good nights sleep under our belt we are off exploring today.

1st day in South Dakota & Steve played tour leader taking us out on his boat on Paktola Lake with a few brewskis. Then a scenic drive up through picturesque Spearfish Canyon. Finishing the day with a tour of the Mount Moriah historic cemetery where Wild Bill Hickock & Calamity Jane are buried.
