Just waiting at the hotel for the transfer coach to the airport for our 18.30 flight to Auckland.
Yesterday was our trip to Mount Fuji but it rained most of the day and the mountain was in thick cloud. The ropeway cable car ride was also in thick cloud but we did get a dry trip across Hakone lake, in a pirate ship, which is the crater of an extinct 100,000 year old volcano.
As we have been going along we thought we would come up with a list of facts about Japan:
Very polite, very tidy, warm toilet seats heated not used ! with built in bidet which can be set off without doing anything!, triple decker roads with shops underneath, city of umbrellas, very quiet - there was no noise at at all when we arrived at Tokyo airport - 12 million people live in Tokyo, Japanese saying - You must climb Mt Fuji once, only a fool climbs it twice.
Tokyo is a fantastic city, every piece of land is built on, although going 40 km out you are in open countryside and you see a bit of rural Japan. We came back from Mt Fuji on the bullet train which was very silent, efficient and fast.
